my daughters, and daughter-in-law, and i bought copies of the book 8 Minutes in the Morning for Real Shapes/Real Sizes: Specifically Designed for People who want to lose 30 pounds or more. Each day we have a warm up (marching in place (bethany/amber)/jogging in place (tamara)/running down the stairs across three rooms to the bathroom the back across the three rooms and back upstairs (debra)) and then just TWO MOVES a day. these moves are rather isometric and they look simple, but they are not. they are not the same two moves per day either, they rotate. and then we have 3 cool down moves every day and those stay the same.

we are also incorporating, to different degrees, his eating plan, which is basically divide your plate in half. the top half gets veggies. the bottom half gets cut in half again (fourths) and into those sections you put your carbs on one side and your protiens on the other side. i actually bought us each a divided plate to use for measuring
tamara also incorporated more healthy shopping (whole wheat pasta, lettuce leaves around her burgers instead of buns). i shop fairly the same, but added more veggies. my half plate of veggies last night, for instance, was peas.

She bought one for my sister and my sister-in-law as well. We are working on a 40 day challenge to see if we like the moves and the fact that it is only 8 minutes.
Each day we do 2 moves and learn a little something about ourselves and the support that we have for each other. So, why I am I sharing... Because I know a few of you have talked to me about weight. I want to work together to finally get our weight off. That is if you are up to. I don't need to say names as you know who you are and may not want others to know that we struggle together.
Let me start at the beginning. When my mom talked about this book and the fact that one was coming my way I was in shock. How would this work? How many things have I tried before? More then I will say. A lot... So, what is different about this book then any other book? I will tell you. Hold on...
First, let me tell you that I read through a lot of the book with my sister. Then the rest when I got home. I talked to my husband who I was honest with and told him that I wasn't sure this was going to work. Come on just 2 moves in the morning. How can you lose with that? Well day 1 was Monday and I thought I was going to die. Yes, peeps! I felt like I worked out for 1 full hour not just 8 whole minutes. But it's not just the moves for me. Each day you work on what he calls the People Solutions. I don't know about others but each day I have walked away in tears.
Today is day 5 and the moves KICKED my BUTT... Which is a good thing. You want the moves to work you. It wouldn't be working if it didn't. As I said it is the People Solution that gets me. Today we had to look into the future and have dinner with a friend or family member that we helped lose weight. Again I walked away from the morning in tears. I know the struggles that we have as over weight people. I saw each and everyone of us healthier, thinner versions of us. Let me say that we look good. I look forward to crying with you as we lose the weight. So, what are you waiting for? I was waiting for a support system that kicks BUTT... It is here. I have one. I am willing to share it with you. Let me know if you are wanting to kick BUTT with us. I am sure they would love to get to know each of you...
